Droste Cacao in Haarlem is listed as national cultural heritage. Formerly a well-known chocolate factory and eye-catcher on the Spaarne, now a special place to live.

 

The building is part of the industrial heritage of Haarlem and borders the historic energy site that is currently being developed as Haarlemmer Stroom.

 

The Friends of Droste Foundation was established in 2018 to focus attention on the cultural and historical value of Droste. Many Haarlemmers or their family members were employed by the chocolate factory and have special memories of it. We are currently collecting their stories for publication on our website.

As soon as circumstances permit, the Foundation wants to organize various events in the area, such as a Droste collectors' fair or an interesting movie or lecture.
